I am going to buy a .45 this week and this one caught my eye. What do you think?
they have a good rep/following, but they have a double stack mag and those rounds are heavy, for hunting I'd go with a single stack mag to cut down on wt, 8 in the mag and 1 in the tube is plenty for me. if for tactical/self defense then maybe you want the double stack and 12+ in the mag? also the 1911 platform has a real large and very vocal/die hard following, and they do have the best triggers. my preference is for sig p220 all stainless, for ease of use rugged/reliable/accurate/ease of dis-assembly and maint, no safety just draw point and shoot, but you will probably get allot of arguments on this topic. for the money there is a S Amer made 1911 style that is well made and accurate/reliable.you may also want to check out the kahr all metal tactical, they are very thin well made and easy to carry.glocks are, depending on mdl, high cap, reliable but huge and need big hands, imo.I would not go with a sub or sub/compact for hunting.
the XD45 is my daily ccw gun, and my side arm when hunting,it shoots great never had a problem with it.
