I want to take a moment to thank Bobby (GobblerGetter) for working with me and creating my new custom knife. His craftsmanship is outstanding and he has produced something I am sure will outlast me and be handed down in my family for generations to come. I was looking for a combination of blade designs with an ergonomic feel and I believe we have created just that.

Bobby started out by asking me what I was looking for and then sending me +/8 different blade shapes and lengths. After I selected the one I wanted, I sent along 5 or 6 different design ideas I wanted incorporated into the blade and handle. Unknown to me at the time, he created a mock-up out of wood and shipped it to me to check for shape and the fit of my hand. I was surprised how close he came to sending me a a perfect knife. I believe what he sent me was 99% complete. I made a few markups on the mock-up and sent it back to him for production.

We decided to go with the following components all wrapped in a custom sheath that can be worn on a belt or mounted in any orientation thanks to the grommets he mounted for me on the outside edge of the leather.

Scales: McamG10 - G10 is an epoxy based high pressure laminate that uses glass mat (think fiber glass) for the fiber base. G10 is tougher and more water resistant than Micarta. The Mcam is a 5 layer color combination developed for the military in Afghanistan

Metal: 0-1 Tool Steel with a 57-59 RC Hardness sharpened to 15 degrees

And all of this came with a lifetime warranty. After holding this knife when it came back to me, I believe this is one warranty I will never have to use. Nothing is going to touch this blade until I put some game on the ground. I can't not wait to put it to its intended use. Here are a couple of pics.

A couple of more thoughts and pics for you. You can see the thickness of the full tang in this blade, when in its in your hand you feel like you could pry a manhole cover up with it, but when you choke up on the handle and get your fingers into the jimping put onto the top of the blade and into the 1st choil, you feel like you could perform surgery with it. I really like the file work he put into the tang at the top of the handle as well.

Great design and amazing craftsmanship, even in the sheath. Something to be proud of, both as an owner and as the maker. When you can tell someone what you want, and they can do it down to the last detail, what more could you ask for?
