I've been looking for gun chaps with no luck. never seemed to be so rough on wood before, (please no jokes). maybe I'll take the drive to look at the 35. the old ones were black walnut and a sanding and tung oil finish would sure look good. doubt I would go whole hog and have it re-blued but boy would that be sweet.

HogDaddy, Is that a "real" M-1 carbine? Who made that one? Treefarmer

Did he do a hot blue or cold blue? That's some quality work right there!

It was a cold blue process, I believe. I can get the exact bluing he used if you want.

How is that mag tube attached to the barrel? How many rounds does it hold?

It's attached with the magazine tube stud and then held in place with the band around the forearm. It will hold 4 in the tube plus one in the chamber.

That's a fine lookin' ol' Marlin. I especially like the short magazine. Marlin used to stamp some of their rifles with "Glenfield" many years ago. They all had the short magazine tube. Treefarmer

Yea, the new barrel says Glenfield Mod. GA30
