What's your preferred lever gun? Winchester (94), Marlin (1894/1895), or Browning (BLR)? Looking for your opinions and experiences (Good and Bad) with Winchester, Marlin, and Browning lever actions.
I've hunted with a BLR since 1992 and I love it. Also have a Marlin 336 30/30 that I enjoy but never could shoot it as good as the BLR.Winchesters always seemed a little loose and sloppy. My BLR is my favorite,I've killed a lot of game with it,it's in .358 cal. Only down side with the BLR is that it's a Jap made gun,but I still love it.
I got a Win mod 94 (pre 64) in a 22 mag that is a sweet smooth shooting gun. Also got a Marlin 336 30-30. Shoot Leverrevolutions and it is a tack driver, but the action is a lot stiffer than the Win
I have a pre 64 model 94 in 30-30, shoot it a little bit, its a decent gun for 100 yards or less but the .270 trumps it IMO. The cool factor is up there though because it has pronghorn sights and oversized lever like the riflemans.
I have a Win 94 Saddle Ring Carbine Trapper in 44 mag for hogs and an old Ithaca 39a .22LR tube feed Made in W. Germany for plinking and squirrels but want a bigger regular rifle caliber in a lever for deer. Think this is the one I am gonna go with. Thoughts??
