OK I found them, the tonic worked. TarHunt.com but hold onto your hat when you see the prices as they have gone up a mite since 1989 OM freakin G. it's a good read & some good ideas for a dedicated pump gun with another bbl pinned in place a more realistic option. if you could find an aftermarket trigger for an 870,500,1100,1187 it'd be a major improvement.

I have pretty much the same setup as Lolo on the 870 Wingmaster. Mine is a 2 3/4" with the 'deer slayer" barrel. I believe it's 20", topped with a reddot scope. I shoot the Winchester gray box 1oz rifled slugs. It is nice and simple. And like he said, you can shoot other loads thru it no problem. Shoots pretty darn well. Just keep it simple. And if you scope it, get one with a long eye relief. Ask me how I know

the H&R singleshots would be an improvement on a pump or semi imo.

I have been looking around and that heavy barrel H&R reminds me of an old Ithaca Single Shot 16g I had as a kid. Man, I miss that shotgun. I use to clean up at the VFW Hall turkey shoots on Sunday afternoon with that thing.

my memory was way off on the price, but if you want or gotta have the very best, there it is. if you could come up with a good quality replacement trigger for an 870/500 you would be rich quick. my Beneli sbe with 24" rifled bbl, 1x4 leup scope was about the most accurate I ever had but cost of sabot's now has about an inch of dust on it. even if you had the $ not too many would tolerate the recoil shooting 12 ga slugs from a bench to get/stay real good at it. 5-10 shots a year to zero the gun is about all I would ever do, so the groups were not too consistent, but that's not the guns fault. but it still has that lousy shotgun trigger.
