OK spill it, did you buy a new bbl from H&R & did they "fit it" or did you buy used and it just fit fine? now I'm on the fence about selling my H&R.
No I didn't order a barrel but I did call H&R about having that .243 your selling fitted/head spaced to my UltraSlug receiver. Since they were not selling the rifle barrel they did not want to fit it for me and tried to put me off onto a preferred gunsmith up in KY to have the work done.
sub moa @ 200 yd's! congrats. that's some good shootin.
I don't know about some of this my 12 ga doesn't kick (870 WingMaster). I have shoot 20 plus 3 inch magnum 000 buck at clay pigeons plus over 20 slugs in one day it was fun the shells were free. I say the 12 ga is about, like the 06 or 150 grains of powder in the 50 with 348 grain slug. Now a cheap old h&r straight stock will kick like mule with 3 inch 1.1/8 oz slug.
So i have to say the set of gun is not right for you it it kicks that hard.
Not trying to come off like a bad ass. Just saying it may make the kick different with with a heaver stock or different style one.
My old 06, my kids say kicks less than the new one that light synthetic. The old gun is 1-2 lb heaver same model same manufacture.
Had a chance to shoot the 12 ga Ultraslug this afternoon with 3 different rounds.I used 2 3/4" slugs///Hornady SST, Lightfield Hybred Exp & Remington Copper Solid. Out of the 3 I decided to sight in the scope with the Remington Copper's. My buddy forgot the lease sled...d*mn...shoulder is feeling it.
The Rem's were +/-2" high at 50 yds...dead on at 100 yds. The Rem rounds along with the Hornady's were some fire breathers, I need to upload some video we shot showing the fireball leaving the barrel. The Lightfield's punched holes that were 2 to 3 times larger than the other two but they wouldn't group as well and dropped quickly, even at 50 yds...
