I just seen a drop in timney trigger for the Rem 1100 on GB
My mossy 500 with cantilever bbl red dot I shot good out to 150/175 yrds using rem. copper solids/Hornady SST slugs. With brenneke Super Sabot slugs I shot good out 135/150 yrds
Is anyone out there shooting Lightfields? One of my members brought a load down from NY during his last visit. He swears by them. Thought about picking up a box during sight in to see how they group in my new H&R
OK spill it, did you buy a new bbl from H&R & did they "fit it" or did you buy used and it just fit fine? now I'm on the fence about selling my H&R.
Here's my setup. Not sure if it's what you are looking for, but it did me right. I was in the military for many years and one of my prior duty stations had hunting opportunities that only allowed shotguns (no rifles).
Mossberg 835 ultimag. Comes with two barrels, one smooth (with compensator holes) and one rifled slug barrel. The slug barrel has a scope mount that comes off with the barrel. Barrel swaps take less than a minute. Scope never loses accuracy or zero. Scope is a Leupold slug gun specific scope with distance lines/marks on the reticle out to 400 yards.
For slugs, I've tried them all, incluiding lightfgields, and I prefer the Hornady slugs. They're essentially a 70mm SST bullet in a shotgun shell. At 200 yards, the shotgun becomes sub-moa if you are shooting from a lead-sled, that is secured to a bench with ratchet straps.
I have shot only about 4 deer with that gun. They get picked up and dropped. They do not run. The shotgun is not fun to shoot. It's got kick. I got it sighted in and I leave it in the safe.
