took one out of a mates leg on a swordfishing trip,,, 22/0. that's why my offshore bag has real bolt-cutters.
picture a hook 7" by 4" stuck thru the calf,,, and a 150lb sword still kicking in the cockpit,, talk about mass mayhem. he learned about a kiil stick real quick.
he is now reel carefull,,lol.
thats the method of removal we use on the boat ,,works good on most of them,,, some still take em home cause i am leary of tendons and ligements after having several carpel releases that did not work
I have had way to many hooks in my flesh some my fault but many a client has caused the pain you learn to grin and bare it untilat the dock!
