Had a friend , that was born & raised in Florida, tell me that he has shot lots of deer while they were standing belly deep in water. Told me he always hunts within the swamp line of WMAs. Claims the closer it gets to season the more you will find them there.
Gonna findout this year. One spot I picked out was dry when I found it, just a faint trail off of an old timber road heading towards the swamp. But now it has water standing there.

I've seen deer eating out in Lake Hatchineha.
