This guy here had bird dogged a doe all morning, Halloween day three seasons ago. She was taking him away so I let out a deep agressive grunt. He stopped chasing her, turned around, ears pinned back and grunting very breath and walked right into a 250gr shockwave

I grunted at a buck few weeks ago early morning while I was getting ready to climb up my stand. I was just curious as to what he would do and I figured he would just run off. He was about 60 yards from me walking across a small opening between couple trees and he responded by turning and walked directly at my direction. I didn't use any tools, just grunted with my mouth/throat in a moderate tone. When he was about 30 yards away I grunted again and he stopped and stared at my direction for about 10 seconds. I was afraid he would charge me as I didn't have my rifle and only had a small 22 lr revolver on my belt and a thermos with hot coffee in my hand. After few seconds he turned around and walked back. I think that was closest I've been to a deer.

Years ago I called in a 6pt that was runnin a doe back and forth around me with the primos can. He was grunting so loudly and often I thought it was a 4 wheeler in the distance at first. He didnt respond to the grunt tube at first but came within 10 yds with the primos can. Sad to say, I was so shook up I sent an arrow right under him. He didnt know what to think and walked all around me looking for the 'other doe'. I was so shook up I didn't even nock another arrow. He went out of range and I regain my composure and listened to him run the other doe all around me for 30 mins out of range. Awesome hunt. I've never heard a deer grunt that frequent or that long.
