I've seen them even eat cheap hay laid down for erosion control but I would think that corn or something higher in carbs would be more of an intial attractant.
That's kinda how it started. He noticed his bird feeder was getting emptied very quickly. Also he baits squirrel traps and they were getting kicked over and the corn in them gone also. He realized it was deer so he started with corn, then onto other things
That hay is rich and smells good so I believe they would eat it like crazy. My buddy feeds it to his horse so I will grab a peice and try it. Should'nt take long to see if they pay it any mind if I throw it down with the corn.
