I was talking to a customer yesterday, and he was telling me about all the deer he has coming into his yard. This house is only a couple miles from me. He does not hunt, but his neighbor does and they have been baiting them up just to watch them. He has several bucks and a ton of does. Even had a doe give birth in his back yard.
Anyway, they have been trying various stuff. Corn mostly, but sugar beet crush, acorn crush, etc. He has been going to the feed store and getting alfalfa bales for horses and the deer have been straight up demolishing it. I walked back there and sure enough you could see where they had been eating it. Even bright green deer turds around in the flower bed. I guess deer will eat anything, considering they are basically a goat
I asked if I could put one of my game cams back there and he said yes. SO I will bring one home after the next trip.
He even had deer tracks in front of his house literally right by his front door where they are picking up acorns. The bucks knocked his bird feeder pole over rubbing on it. Still some velvet hanging off of it

I've heard they eat it but ain't it like 15 bucks a bail? If I'm right that would turn out costing way more than corn. But one plus would be it shouldn't attract hogs ,that alone is worth me trying it.

I think that it is all what they get use to eating because I have tried it down at my camp and it laid on the ground and rotted. I know deer up north go crazy over it
