Make sure you practice your uphill/downhill shots! And I hope you get a good one. My brother went to Colorado a couple years ago and got a nice 5x5, and wants to go back and do it again.

I really want to do a New Mexico or Colorado public land archery elk hunt. If about 4 -6 guys rented a motor home it would not be that expensive.
The guys ranch I hunted on in Craig, Co is still available and he still charges $1500 per hunter. And you can stay in his little cabin. Man I am getting the itch to go back out there

Man, if this job I started today turns into a long-term thing, I might be able to swing a hunt like that. My brother went to Colorado from Virginia with 8 other guys in 3 pickups (he had an F-250 4-door diesel 4x4, the others had similar trucks). They hunted public land west of Denver, and I think they got 2 bull elk, one cow, and 3 mule deer. He shot one of the bulls and has it mounted and on the wall. If I want to even think about going, I better start getting in shape, though. Traipsing around the mountains right now would just about KILL me! :old:
