I try to get to my buddies farm in Claxton (S of Statesboro) once a year. The rut there is the same as my Florida rut, so I usually miss it.
This whole area is farm land and it backs up to a high$$$$ lease so he has some very healthy deer and huge racks.
I missed a 7 pt 2 years ago chasing 2 does across a peanut field. He would make my 10 pt on the wall look like a midget

I have 320 acres, all pines, hardwoods and a couple of bottoms on the north side. Property next to me was clear cut this past spring. Can't wait. Only 5 more pay days till bow season. lol. We took 9 deer off of it last year. 8pt , 9pt and does.

My dad is president of a hunt club that leases land about 30 miles northeast of Dublin. They've had it for about 6 or 7 years. It's around 1800 acres, and last year they killed several good deer. That area is also supposed to have more turkeys than anywhere else in Georgia. They come in there to get turkeys to transplant to other areas. But I don't think any of the members hunt turkeys, although they always go up there during spring gobbler season.

I haven't been up there in a couple years, so I'm hoping I'll get to make a couple of trips this year. Last I heard they were looking for a couple of members. All the current members are from central Florida, mostly from around Lakeland/Winter Haven. If anyone is interested let me know, I'll get you in touch with my dad.
