Also, bluefish make incredible bait for kingfish or 'cuda's, if you have a reef or a wreck nearby, the kingfish run should be getting it on soon. Use a stinger rig on a 3 ft wire leader.

I have a spot out of Steinhatchee that is loaded with them in the summer. There is like a plateau out there called the "Little Bank". It is a grass flat that is surrounded by 13' water around it. On the edge of that dropoff is stacked with them. If the fishing is slow, I can just about always go out there and get a cooler full of blues. They are fun to catch too.
Usually if we catch them, we fry them up that night. They don't freeze well. I will vacuum seal a bunch for the smoker. I need to post my fish dip recipe. Always get compliments on it

blue fish love cold water.. i got a spot here in st pete that is full of them.. Only when its cold out tho.
