I'm really wanting a 50 mm lens. Wallyworld sells a leopold rifleman series for around 300.00,a little cheaper than everywhere else I looked.I'm still looking though,my sons .270 should be here next week.
Before id pay that for a Rifleman Id look at the new redfields the few ive handled were great and they go for around $150. Vortex optics are also comparable to the rifleman series IMO. Personally I like the nikon buckmasters at around $220 or the weaver k series for about half that though.
Nikon= Phillipines,Leopold =USA I checked both of them out, both nice but I'd rather pay more for something made here. I know a rifleman is not topof the line Leopold but it is quality and guaranteed. I don't want to go cheap on my scope, but I don't think I can afford uch more than that.
Redfields owned and manufactured by leupold and they are less than half the price for quality as good or better than the rifleman. Weaver is also US owned. No lenses in any riflescope are made in America by the way just the tubes. The Japs and the europeans got the market cornered.
Dicks has Redfields,I'll take a ride over there tommorow andcheck them out. Thanks,Jeff.
