Are they hard to use? I am just not sure if my son would have problems I dont want to spend the money and then he cant do it.
Or do you think I sould go for one of the 2 man ground blinds for $99 from cabellas
In my opinion, finding a tree or some sort of natural ground blind to use is more effective than the pop up ones, unless you brush it in well. Just something else to spend money on, carry to the woods, and have to worry about.
I haven't used climbers that much so I'll leave that part to more experienced folk.
I use both, I have smmits. tree lounge and groun blind. and ladders. thay all work well. The ground blind just sits out in the open with nothing around for cover and have killed three tukeys and a 4 point out of it, the deer and yurkeys walk to within ten feet of this thing and I an amazed they don't even look at it. in my opion it would be great for kids and also the ladders as well. on the ladder just make sure you use a piece of camo to block movement. The climber are also effective but take more skill to use. I would practice in the off season with them so thay can climb without issues, also with kidds use a full body harness as they climb to keep them safe, you can tie them off to the tree as they climb it takes a little longer but they are safe and sound. Don't cimb with your gear use a rope to lift it ounce you are in place. I have chameleon blind if I think that I mite be seen in my climber it works like a champ, love the thing. Take it slow and get those kidds in the woods..........Hope this helps

Stick with a 2-man stand from Sportsmans Guide. Spend what you can afford and leave extra for the blind kit for the 2man stand. Ground blinds work well too. Either way, you need to have something that covers and goes around the blind to hide the movement all kids will make, especially after about an hour of seeing nothing.
