Well, if I find a need to use a shotgun for deer, I'll probably just get another one and set it up for it with a scope or red dot. Last season I just used my muzzle loader. Could have just taken a slingshot, since I never saw anything worth shooting!

WHy use a 20 when you can us a 12!

Depends on the mind set of the person pulling the trigger. the guy who just wants to kill something, anything, and just wants to sit in a tree and have a beer may need the 12ga.
some one who cares more about how he makes the kill as opposed to what he kills or if he kills may prefer the extra challenge of the 20ga. or the even greater challenge of the .410

for someone younger a 20 guage is perfect.. My wife weight 120 lbs and is 5'2" she uses a 20 guage with no problem.. Last time we went skeet shooting she was using the 20 all day.. i tod her "hey babe use my 12 guge its more fun" she shot it.. Yes she did.. didnt talk to me the rest of the day. LOL

Hand her a remington 870 in 12 ga and shell be just fine. the mossbergs are not small person friendly. the forearm is farther foward than most other companies forcing shorter arms to really reach beyond whats comfotable . more than likely she didnt have a good weld on it
