slug gun, what gauge?

I hunted with a club in Jersey where we used drivers and standers. All we used was buckshot and we lost alot of deer. I learned to keep my shots to close range, but the young guys would try a long shot and you end up trailing a wounded deer and losing it. Buckshot at close range is lethal, but those pellets spread out pretty quick.

thats why i figure tighter choke the group will spread out further away.. then using an open choke like i use for skeet.. lol

it is actually the opposite, the tight choke flattens the pellets and they start flying all over, most riot guns are cylinder bore, straight pipe.

so im better off using my open choke.. i know a m0dified is better but i have to special order all the chokes for my mossy.

Mossy 500 cantelever bbl red dot and shoots 5 to 6 inch groups at 200 yards with rem copper solids or hornady roounds!

12 ga because of better down range ft lbs of energy!
