did you beat him??? LOL ok, like i said, i would have it drilled and tapped. if you have it, spend the money on a good scope, all of my scopes are higher end and have never had a problem. not to say cheaper scopes aren't good, i am just not willing to take the chance.

That all depends on how much you want to spend. There are some good scopes to be had for $50, or you can spend several hundred. Simmons and Bushnell both are economy versions of scopes and are pretty decent and can usually be found at wally world. I have a simmons pro hunter that is clear as a winter morning on a 30-06. I have a;so had some cheap scopes loose gas after a couple years and cloud up on the inside

I won't have a problem dropping a bill or two to get a good one. I just don't want to drop that much and find out that I paid for a POS.

it is all about chances. just remember, you get what you pay for. i am all about quality and reputation.

the one time i had a problem with a Leupold, the cross hair had shifted, was not even in town, took it to a store that sold them. the guy looked at me, the scope and handed me a new one. then let ME use the stores tools and bench to replace it.
