Sell the Winchester and get a Marlin. I love my 336 I have a Cabellas 3x9 Lever Evolution scope and absolutely love it. That ammo works good out to 300y

imo putting a scope on a winchester lever is like putting a luggage rack on a race car, it ruins the lines and profile of the gun, and the "spirit " of what it was designed for. realisticly what distances and cover are you going to be using it for? a good quality open adjustable sight (like millet) with orange front ramp and white outline rear, are cheaper than a scope and mounts, and depending on the shooter and practice could go to 150 yards, plus you never have to worry about the scope fogging up or rain or dropping it in water or mud, just rinse with a little bottled water.if you realy want a scope I'd recomend low power variables, I use leupold cuz I can't afford german glass, a 1-4x, 1.5- 5x, 2 - 7, should work fine, certainly no bigger than 2x7. well thats my 2 cents worth.

I don't think I'm ever going to get my 30-30 back from my boss. He said it was done but when he went to test fire a few #3 jambed when he went to eject the round.
