I see lots of adds in the newspapers, keep checking each week until you find what you want.if you've got back problems now try treking trough the thick stuff for 5 miles with e heavy ( over 3 lb )gun on your hip it throws your gait and hips/back out of alignment. I rarely carried a pistol and rifle while hunting up north, but hunting hogs down here especialy when alone I want something to shoot with if I have to drop the rifle and haull azz up a tree. usualy my sig 220 45 acp. saw a guy at a gun shop recently trying to trade a desert eagle 50 cal for 800$ in store credit. that would make a nice hog gun imo. like I posted earlier at pistol range alot of game will hear the hammer being drawn back. if you want to trade your 1187 for a real nice tricked out redhawk 357, only made them 1 year in that caliber, ported tuned and trigger job by Jack weigand pro shooter and gunsmith editor for guns and ammo. let me know, must see/shoot to appreciate, designed for fast accurate shooting with 5 1/2" bbl and millet white/orange open sights, sweet/smooth trigger, matte stainless finish.

Oh no the 11/87 ain't going anywhere. lol I'm not to worried about being busted by hogs, at that point it will be to late for them. Thinking about maybe spending some cash or maybe trading my 45, or 44 lever. who knows just kicking it around for now.

( I.M.O. ) a pistol is something to get by with until you can get to a rifle/shotgun. yes you can, and I have taken game with them but they don't hold a candle to rifles in power or accuracy, except maybe the single shot encores/ mag research/ remmington xp's. so now lets hear it from all you 44 mag, 454, 460, 480, 500 and 50 cal users. a 12 ga 1oz slug at close range, or a 308/30-06, has it all over em in energy/accuracy/velocity and range, let the debate begin.

if you plan on doing any out of state hunting with your hand gun you need to take in to consideration that some states dont allow necked down cartridges for hand guns, so alot of calibers cannot be used. the nice thing, however about a contender is your ability to change barrels.

H.O.M. I never heard that one. what possible difference could it make if a cartridge is necked down or not? and what about 25-06, 280, both necked down from 30-06, also several necked down from 308 ( "standard cartriges" ) are they saying thats not legal either? or just the "wildcats", sounds pretty arbittrary and stupid.
