I have hunted handguns for many years you need a TC contender get a 7-30 waters barrel
if you reload if you don't get it in 30-30 buy it in 12"
If you load the 7-30 is absolutely the best hands down
Get on any handgun forum 8 out of 10 will tell you that
If you want one and don't load there is still ammo around but hard
all the round is but its magic is a 30-30 necked down to 7mm
I've taken deer out to 120yd but would not hesitate to almost double that
Hogs don't have good luck when hit by a 7-30 either
I really can't take (like) the SNAP or the 44mag had one in a 10" barrel
Killed a hog sold it the following week
You want a Gun to enjoy shooting so the learning curve is good
get a big Banger you'll learn to twitch and mis
after a shooting session your Hands will ache
You may even Plug your forehead with the Hammer
Now thats funny I don't care who you are 😆

+1 on the 7-30 waters, I used to reload for a friends winchester lever in that cal, very accurate, very mild recoil, good stopping power with the right bullet for deer/hogs and anything smaller, similar to the 7mm08 just 2-300 fps slower, but def less recoil. great caliber for a woman or kid, or even a he-man that realizes what he realy only needs, nosler 120 gr flat point at 2600 fps

I have yet to see a hog that didn't die as dead as Julius Ceaser from a hit with a .357 125jhp. Folks cringe a little at the light load, but the extra speed shoots a bit flatter and does the job nicely!
