what's your favorite peice of gear ( clothes, boots, gun, knife, pack,stand, whatever ) that you always take with you, and have been using for the longest period of time? mine is a gerber " trout and bird knife " that I bought in 1975. the blades only about as long as my index finger, very thin , hard stainless steel hard to sharpen until you get the hang of it , but holds an edge forever, alot smaller now than when I first bought it from all the shapenings. big handle of a material I like, simple leather slip in sheath with no snaps, that I wear around my neck with a shoestring. can't believe I haven't broken it or lost it in all theese years.
I love my Nikon Monarch binoculars, But I have a lot of "stuff" I cant live without :yes:
first binocs I ever bought were nikon monarcs, served me well,now I can't recall whatever happened to them, lost them int the 80's. I broke down and bought good glass around 2000, zeiss 10x40's and leica minis 7x35 I believe, but honestly I don't use them for hunting all that much. the 10x40's usualy stay in the truck, the minis I usualy carry but don't use them in the brush too much.
I have a Case pocket knife my dad gave me when I was a kid. It is sharpened so many times the blade is down very small. I also have a compass I have had since I was a kid. Those 2 things are ALWAYS with me
