another option is to get a good quality opensight or peep, generaly alot cheaper than a scope, better for knockaround use & in rain/fog and heavy/close brush. I have millett adjustable open orange front & white outline rear on my winchester and slug gun and they work good for me. its a big improvement over the factory open sights, give it a try.

just bought a nother one of them (had one in the past) a few weeks back at bass pro during the big sale, was gonna put a xs sight on there i mean a xs ghost ring site they are sweet! but ended goin with a tasco pro point red dot. my wife has one on her carbine and i had one on a old slug gun i had they are great also. gonna get it to the range and sight it in and run a bunch through it next weekend. i have two friends who had bad experience with that new lever ammo though, shoots great groups great but dont expand, one was a 444 and the other a 30 30 both shots just at and under 50 yards and broadside on hogs and holes were the same in and out. they didnt recover the bullets but the hogs did die within 50 yards double lunged but there was no inside damage to sapport any expansion. also i've seen other guys sayin the same on other sites about them. just tryin to give ya a heads up on them. personally i like the 170gr. rem. cor-lokt hp's now they make some wounds!!!
