Mounted a red dot sight on my Ithica 37 today (smooth bore) and got it to a six inch group at 50 yds. and I think without a rifled barrel its as good as I'm gonna get. Any thoughts on this ? The thing I like is the hole made by these rifled slugs were bigger than a 2-litre soda cap. Anybody shoot an animal with a slug like this.....must drop-em in there tracks.

Oh by the way .....OOOOOOOUCH !

hey man if you want to shoot smooth bore with slugs go but the federal tru-ball slugs in my 500 both the 12 i have and the 20 i sold i can all day shoot 2-3 inch groups off hand with just the bead sights. in mine i used the imp. choke never tried the mod. with them but 4 bucks to 5 bucks a box depending where you go they shoot great!! they are designed for the smooth bore not the rifled ones. with that red dot on there you will be stackin them on top of eachother. give them a try and repost your results.

Here is a hog I shot with a rifled slug at about 25 yards. Spine shot to the neck  and here is the slug I found after it scrambled all her organs.

This one I shot in the lungs and he ran off. Found him a day later. :nono:
