Here are two 357 handguns I have and would like to scope one or the other, depending on which one parts can be had for cheaper and more readily.
Blued gun is a S &W model 28-2 Trooper model
Stainless is a Rossi

I am confused as to what type of rail I would need, and how is it attached...If there is any drilling/tapping needed then forget it. If the rails out there will accept the holes, then I will go from there with it

Please let me know how to go about it. I have always wanted to scope one of these out, just never pursued it

i looked in the midway catalog for the s&w. shows needing drilling and tapping didn't see anything for the rossi.i think b- square made a mount that does'nt require tapping i'll look into it.

just looked at b-square website says pre 1993 models uses rear sight screws for attchment.post 1993 uses drill and tap screws. also says the universal s&w mount also fits on the rossi 971 model they have it for 50.00 bucks hope that helps.nice guns by the way. if your smith is wearing a 5 inch barrel i believe there pretty rare.
