Okay, being that I am hunting public land for this first time this year...and probably going alone, I'm thinking about buying a hand-held unit. I don't know anything about them, how they work, what the picture on the screen looks like, etc. What would anyone recommend for ease of use, ease to read (and understand) what I am looking at on the screen, etc. I want to save a spot in the unit when scouting to find it in the dark later and then get me back to my car if it's dark after the hunt. Also, I may find that hunting alone (and public land) sucks (or isn't for me) and decide to go back to hunting outfitters/ranches next year...probably not but the possibility is there. So, I'd rather not buy a $350 unit as my first one.
Any suggestions?? Thank you!!
The yellow one is nice and easy to use..
first of all you can just use bright eyes to get to and back from the stand in the dark.. thats what i do... works grat and you cannot see them during the day. i use the garmin etrex legend. works great.. about 280 tho. color screen and updteable software.
