Anybody ever re blue one of their guns? I would like to try but have never done it. Any tips or prefered blueing kits would help. Thanks.
cold bluing is a waste of time and money dont bother but if you find a good smith let me know i need some work done on a 45.
alot of smiths can do a goog job, but fords custum guns in crystal river are real pros. I want to take a couple of my old colt pistols there.
As far as re-bluing goes, does anyone know a somebody that can refinish a stock?I have a few I'd like to restore. I know Gander Mt does that ,but I'd like to use a private individual.

If its a wood stock, you can do it yourself. Ive done a couple of shotguns and they look good.
Very fine grit sandpaper, steel wool, micro fiber cloths, and Tru-oil are all you need
