sorry about the caps in my last post. hit the cap lock and didn't know it. as far as BDC reticles go, i think (IMHO) it is just another gimmick. depending on what grain bullet i'm sighting in with, i will sight my rifle about 1-1/4" to 1 1/2" high at 100 yds. which will but me dead nuts at 200. shots much further than that have to be ideal for me to take. no wind, sturdy rest, and broadside target.
I have a 3x9 on all my rifles and usually leave it turned up to about 5x when in the stand
Im pretty sure im gonna put a 3x9 on the .270 just probably a x50 but well see..
Im looking at my scopes from $120-$270 now by bushnell and nikon...looking for a good scope,to get the job done and not mess up on me. :cheers
As far as close range, the 270 is going to be mostly for stand..Ive got a mossberg 500 and my dad marlin 30-30 for close range. :gangsta
BUSHNELL SCOPE 6-24x50 AOE Illuminated RED &GREEN Optics - $175 (Sarasota)
Now what would be the difference between that and a bushnell 3-9x50 scope?

the difference is the amount of magnification. 6-24 will look out very far. more magnification. but less field of view at higher magnification. at 24 power you could count the fleas on a ticks azzz at 100 yds. 3-9 is lower magnification. unless your shooting 1000 yds 6x24 would be an overkill. IMO
