of course they are saying that. did you think they would admit they are having their PARTS made in China, then charging us American prices? and yes the Chinese are totaly ripping them off, do I feel sorry for them when they are doing it to us, HELL NO. worse case scenario I'm out 92$. someone I know is using the exact same scope for 500 meter competition and happy with it. is it identical to the true leupold's sold here, NO. nor can you return it to Leupold for a lifetime warranty. I know I'm taking a risk. am I getting 92$ worth?, I'll have to let you know. had my eye glasses made in China also and am happy with them. at lenscrafters here they wanted minimum 400$ for a titanium memory frame (without the lenses) total for 1 pair of the type I wanted was 6-700$. I got 1 pr prescription sunglasses and 1 pr regular, both titanium memory for 53$ each. I'm ALL for buying American but when they outsource for parts/assembly then proudly proclaim 'MADE IN THE USA", THEY ARE BENDING US OVER AND GIVING IT TO US DRY. find me something with parts and assembly built here ENTIRELY from the ground up and I'll gladly pay the extra $$$. really didn't want to bring politics into it, religion next I suppose.
