Best scope I've ever had for most of Florida hunting scenarios is the Leupold VXIII 2.5-8x36.... around $400 shipped.

I have a Remmy 700 BDL MountainCarbine Detachable Mag in 7MM-08 that I have a huge Leupold VX3-L 3.5-10x56 on it now that I believe the scope you mention about would probably work better than the one I have on my 7MM-08.... That 56MM lens sure does give you alot of glass and light gathering capability though...

Sportsmans guide sells a couple of different Pentax scopes for around $70.00 and right now they are doing free shipping I believe. I have the Pentax 4X12X40 on my Remington 7402 and its a great scope for the money....gonna order another one for my 7mm.08........

I have this one...for the money...cant beat it...

without getting into politics, a lot of scope mfgr's are getting their parts built in CHINA, THEY IN RETURN ARE MAKING KNOCK OFFS WITH THE SAME BASIC PARTS FOR APP 80% LESS (IF NOT MORE). I got a Leupold tactical 4x12x50 with target turrets, illuminated reticle, 2- different colors (goes for about a grand here from Leupold), door to door from Beijing in 1 week for 92$ free shipping. dhgate.com, haven't had a chance to try it yet but will give a review when I do.

At 10the power that scopes exit pupil is 5.6mm... about 4.5 is all your eye can honestly perceive... try the 2.5-8, you wont be dissapointed. Im likely gonna put one on the Kimber Montana 257 Bob im soon to order also.

If you check on Leupolds website, those knock-offs are not affiliated with the Leupold company at all. They're not having a cheaper scope built for them, it's just a POS scope made overseas with a weak attempt at making it look like a real Leupold. Lots of people fooled by those scopes.
