I had some Tinks 69 out last week and watched 2 bucks walk downwind right by it like it wasn't even there. Never tried Code Blue but will get some next time I see it. Tried vanilla extract today but nothing was moving so don't know if it actually works or not. Any one ever try vanilla?

i have used it, but i would put it out over the course of the summer than use it in my foodplots during season. the deer on my lease are very cautios of new smells. will not even come to c'mere deer for about 1 week. had to get them used to the smell, then the vanilla worked good.

ive heard of people burning vanilla scented candles in their stand. That smell is probably way stronger then some extract on the ground

for a strong scent you cannot get any stronger than vanilla extract. i have mixed it with demineralized water and sprayed a whole food plot with it. them woods smelled very pretty. Also use peanut butter. my buddies give me a hard time about pb. had acouple stands, that when you sat in them and the wind was right, you would get hungry just sitting there.

I always buy something every season, usually those little scent wafers, but I'm pretty confident I can kill just as much game without them. Keep the wind in your face, don't wear the same stand out day after day,and wear rubber boots.I do believe if you get some good fresh in heat scent it can be used as an attractant, but only if they're rutting. Sometimes that stuff in the bottles just smells plum rotten.
