Yeah that is the way all these threads go...WAY off the mark then my advertisement to buy gets ignored.

Oh I get your point about quality and if I want that or need that you are spot on and I value your opinion. but most people do not buy a gun as an investment...if you want a real gun for an investment you will buy $10,000 plus, keep it for 50 years, die and your kids will get the reward. If I fall into a deal good if I don't I will buy whatever I find and not worry if I make $200 when I sell it.

I want a shooter, not worried what it will sell for when I sell it, I bet it will be just as accurate in a 50 yard shot as a $1000 gun...so

Am looking for a beater, the $155 deal if I needed the gun would be perfect for me. It will take game worth more than its price, I am happy and got an adequate shooter.

Yeah I got your point. I've been buying Win Model 12's that are valued in a normal markey in the $1000-$1500 range for the last year for $260-$560 range... In five years they will be in the $2000-$2500 range of value... Not a bad return on $260-$560, when and if i ever decide to sell them.

This has nothing to do with accuracy. It has to do with at least getting your money back that you put into something, whatever that something is.

Find you an old Rem 870, 1100, 1187, Win model 12, Ithica 37, Browing BPS truck gun for $150-$200 that is beat to death, do a resto on it and you'll have something down the road that's worth money, besides being a great shooter. Papaj's Rem 760 from 1951 will be a gem after the reblue and all the wood work he's done on her.

That's my advice....

I have an 18" or 20" on my 11-87 smooth bore and it shoots cheap winchester slugs out to 50 yards very accuratly ( like 2" groups free hand). See f you cant trade that barel for a shorter one. With rifle sites I love shooting my 11-87 and i have killed MANY hogs since I bought it. Good luck

Thanks John, the barrels are too expensive so am looking now for an old beater gun to chop the barrel off.
