i picked up a sears n roebuck slug model at lakeland gun show for $155 came with 2 barrels, shot some clays at teneroc, then went over to their rifle range to put slugs thru first shot was dead center at 50 yds....... ya dont have to spend big money to get an accurate gun. Mossberg makes some barrels for the remington guns i think, might be an option.

30.06 is exactly correct. You don't have to spend big money to get an accurate gun. His find of the sears n roebuck slug model at lakeland gun show for $155 which came with 2 barrels is great and probably shots just fine and accurate. Personally I wouldn't waste the $155.00 on a weapon that in 20 years will be worth a whoping $155.00 or maybe even less.... Does any of this preaching that Nacho and I do about buying quality over quantity make any sense to anyone on the Forum???

The problem with America, everyone has to have everything now. The new internet generation thinks all they have to do is double click and it magically appears, no work or saving required, they have to have it now and by god they are gonna get it. The days of getting a credit card just because you are alive are over.

This is exactly why Wal-mart has been so successful and China is our largest importer of cheap junk which has caused our country and economy a huge problem because we don't make anything in the USA anymore, all because people don't save and believe "that's all they can afford". How about going without and save until you can afford something worth buying... I'm not talking about food or daily life type items, I'm talking about guns, TV's, cars, furniture, etc. Try that concept... or not and you'll never have anything of value.

Until Americans realize they have to save money and go without until they can afford something worth buying, nothing is gonna change with them or our economy... Those that have money, is because they save it, buy quality on items that last longer than a week and don't waste money on junk...

My two cents. I've got about 6-8 guns for sale for less than $200.00 that I'll be posting up here and I'll bet they don't last a month. That's exactly what they are, guns worth less than $200.00 and they will never be worth anything more. Buy a $12.00 shovel at Lowes made in China, use it everyday and it won't last a month before it breaks or buy a $65.00 shovel made in the USA, use it everyday and it will last you years...

Sorry for ranting and going off on a tangent interupting the 1187 thread Frank. As papaj said, find an old truck gun of quality construction, buy it cheap and bring it new life by doing a project restoration on it....
