I have killed deer in no wind and wind blowing 30mph. The wind swirls so bad in Florida that I dont think it matters much how bad its blowing. All I know is Saturday I was about sea sick it was whipping so hard and most everyone in our hunt camp saw game movement between 5-7 pm. It was out of the NW at 15 with gusts to 30 and every few minutes I would get a gust from the opposite direction
I dont know if you can use them where u hunt but we use gopher bombs in each stand to help aide in finding the normal wind patterns from each stand.Plus I have done this on windy days with swirls just to see what was happening and learned so dang much.
Hey all I will say I am sorry if some of my posts step on toes that is definitely not my intention.All I would like to do is pass on what was given to me over the last near 30 years.I have worked with game ranches,deer biologist,many hunters and deer breeders also with professional guides,not just in hunting but fishing industry also.I just like to pass on information I learned which I have used in my school and pass on in forums.
I do understand not one person here knows me personally or knows about or even cares about my accomplishments.I am not here to offend anyone and I do hope in time to meet many of you and then you can tell me I am F.O.S. or not..lol!
I was wanting C r0ck and others to know I was not bashing into them about hunting information. As I read through their posts I then I posted a total turn around and I just want everyone to know that I only post my knowledge and not B.S.,LOL!
knowledge is power LAMEHAWK! they don't call em the ELUSIVE WHITETAIL for nothin!we as hunters need every advantage possible cause we are at a great disadvantage.wish i had just one of there senses.THANKS
