guess we can agree to disagree. I'm not lookin to change anybody. thats life on public land, orange tape all over the place, tree stands plainly visable 50-100yds from the road. not exactly pristine conditions.whatever happened the old addage if you pack it in, pack it out, and leave the area the same or better than you found it, leave no sign you were there. good luck to you anyway.
It sounds like your chain and lock is pretty heavy duty so you would probably be safe. I see stands now and then, some of which arent even locked but i dont mess with them. The only time i leave my climber in the woods is on the Saturday evening hunt so its already on the tree Sunday morning. Thats the only time
I been doing the same thing, ill just leave my climber and lock it if I know im the last one in the area and will be the first in the morning...I dont even care anymore if theres a stand there or not, if I like the area im hunting it. I passed 3 stands on the way to my spot all vacant the whole 5 days i was hunting last week with my qouta, course there may be someone in em from now on since everyones allowed to hunt but even still ill walk right past someone if there sitting 50 yards from the road blocking a perfectly good area and trail because they want to sit right on the trail. Thats just me.
I agree. I've spent some time looking for a paticular spot and there are not many still hunters in Richloam. At least where I'm thinking of putting the stand. I'll probabley take it down on Sunday.
well richlom is like this.. if you shoot a deer and a guy with a dog comes up they will either want a piece of the meat or tell you that its theirs. thats how they work over there.. they will say "my dog pushed it to you" heard many of horror stories about richlom.
You can have a piece of my deer if I get a piece of your dog. Meats meat babby. 😆
