I've never seen one in the wild. That's awesome! I would bet the FWC would want to know where you spotted him. I'd give them a call.

yeah because they claim that there is none up that far in florida.

That is a big Bobcat....You can see the white tips on the ears and there is no tail from what I can make out.

Anticipated debate as observations you pointed out have been discussed by us...if it is indeed a bobcat it is huge. i think i have some deer on the same spot that could be used as a reference for size.

I uploaded the pic to Picasa and played with the colors. In the color inversion it shows the outline of a stubby tail. I'm gonna go with a big bob cat. I think the bright sun bleached out the spots that are prevalent on bobcats

Don't have enough computer savvy on this end to do all you did to enhance the picture, so if you say it's a bobcat we'll go with that! Either way FLQuacker has a great picture of a cat! The sun is appears to be reflecting off the cat's rump as well as its' ears and head like the leaves on the bushes, the fact that you were able to make out short tail pretty much closes the issue. Good job.
