I know the more the merrier....but realistically, how many stands do you like to maintain.

Sure property size and other factors fill in....

Right now I'm set up on 3. One for a northerly wind. 1 for a southern wind. 1 that's kinda a tweener. I have no food plots or feeders. Just set up on travel routes and natural food sources.

I am running 4 stands at the moment. 2 lock ons and 2 ladders. I am set up on feeders, both gravity and spinners. This gives me a chance to hunt the entire weekend without having to sit the same stand twice.

I have 3 "spots". One spot I have a tripod stand only, and a tripod feeder. Second spot I have a tripod stand, a 2 man ladder at the other end and a tripod feeder. Also have a 21' ladder and a gravity feeder down in the woods off of there. SPot 3 I have a 20' 2 man and a 21' ladder stand (kinda 2 spots in 1) and have a 5 gal spin feeder by each stand. Also a ground blind at second and of my third spots...lots to maintain, and lots to move if I ever leave. Lmao

3 spots.

One spot strictly for hogs. 55 gal spin feeder with a 2 man ladder stand, and a 1 man ladder close for bow.

The other spot is right across the road its got no feeder and a 2 man stand. Just to throw corn down and for my wife to sit but still be close.

My 3rd spot is my foodplot. This is strictly for deer. Well this year its just a circle clearing of grass. Couldn't afford to get the plot done. Its got a spin feeder on the edge of the plot that only goes off for 2 seconds in the morning only. and its got a two man stand. I want to build a boxstand here when work picks up. I got over 200 yard shots there. Its been fifth rowed and logging roads put right in my space.

Sent from my killphone.

for us space in the truck for gear & passengers was a limiting factor. even without camping gear, more than 2 hunters per vehicle got crowded quick. Eventually we learned it was easier to make 3 trips for 1 hunt, and we had a 3 1/2 hr drive. 1 week ahead to put up stands, 1 week after season to take stands down. I used 3, 1 for am, 1 for pm, and 1 in case the wind was from an odd direction. This was private land however. It's good to have options. An improvised ground blind could be made in a few minutes, but you had limited visibility and had to be very ready as game would basically be on top of you before you knew it, + scent control was harder & it wasn't as comfortable. Those were the glory days and behind me now.
