Buddy, two years ago I knocked on a fellas door in Danville Ga. Spoke with him for a few and asked him if I could lease his land. He said yes and we agreed on the price and so forth. I spent a year on the property and left because of politics with the other hunters. I still speak to the land owner every few weeks.

So my answer to you is yes. I have done it and it can work in your favor. I offered to keep the land as I received it. To clean up what others had discarded on the property and to help him with anything he may need. I have asked others as well with no such luck. But in two weeks I am going to back to start knocking on doors again.

Hunting for property is like hunting animals. You have to be in the right place at the right time.

@eaj1010,

Thanks for the response. I like how you approached the situation. I know the answers will be diverse, but it seems like you haven't had any extreme responses even when being given a "no" response.

I am working on a gentleman that has a few hundred acres he uses for his cows. He wants to let me on his property to help with his pig problem, but he is reluctant due to the previous guys he had out there. They forgot to shut the gate one night and let a few cows out. When i figure out how to overcome this situation, I will fill you on how I did it and what was said etc. I forgot to mention this in my last post.
