Have you ever driven by some land and thought that would be a good place to hunt, and then actually stopped and knocked on the person's door and asked them about hunting their property? If so...

What kind of reaction did you receive?

Were you allowed to hunt?

Did you offer anything in return for the ability to hunt their land?

If you have tried this method more than once, how successful have you been?

The way I see it is that the land owner probably doesn't have a shortage of people wanting to hunt his land. Now you have a stranger coming in to ask for permission. What would your answer be?
I've never tried, but that's the way I think if I owned a large chunk of land.
On the other hand... you never know unless you try.

Too many idiots have ruined for the rest of us. That's why I am very careful on the land I hunt. I went to a house in Myakka and no one was there. It turned out my buddy hunted it and I got to hunt it anyway.

Ya I am trying to hear what has happened to anyone first-hand. People can speculate and say land owners are over the door knocking, its been ruined, etc. but I am curious if those stories are accurate.
