I'm a bit confused. Are southern raccoons usually active during daylight? In MA, if you saw a raccoon active in the day, it was likely rabid.

Have seen lots in the woods during the day. If there aren't many predators, then there's no reason for them not to be out. And if you are well camo'd and don't move, they'll get real close.
