Man let me tell you why I hate public land. I scouted, found no sign of humans and plenty of game. Sat morn 2 boats landed near me but I never seen anyone. This morn on the way to my stand I found a ground blind at 100 yards from where I was set up. 1 hr later a warrior in orange walked up on me. That was it,I climbed down and got my buddy. We set out to get the hell away from the river and we did. We traveled about 500 yards north to find more stands so we headed back to find another guy in a tree that was less than 300 yards form me. Way to many people in there for us. Never again will I waste a weekend on a quota hunt on public land.Y'all can have it. I mean,we waded across a river and hiked a 1/2 mile and we were still covered up with dudes.
Sorry to hear you had such a bad time.
"public land"
one of those newbies will probly get a monster out of there with pure beginers luck. it used to bug me that I would do all the hard work and put in the time scouting ,trimming shooting lanes, building stands and ground blinds and guests I'd put in them would get deer while I got skunked. can't take it too seriously or you'll make yourself crazy.
yeah SA know what you mean. I was in Croom also and the area i was in was full too. I sat 9 hours today and only saw about 20 head of people. I am ready to go to Alabama.
