Never used a slug barrel on a .410 all I ever had was a slick barrel and would use buckshot therefore you have 3 00 buck pellets... just be sure to pattern the gun beforeyou go.
:saluting
u refering to his weight? Guess it would take about 410 pounds to put the back of your truck down that much! By the size of the hole in his side I'd say it was a little more than 410, probably about 450 (Marlin) 🙂
Nope, that was an honest to GOD .410 with #6 shot. I was squirrel hunting on Blanding and a small group of 'em came in during a rain shower. I was hunkered up underneath a big Magnolia tree and she came about 10 or 15 feet away. I said what the heck, lets she what this baby will do. I was shocked but probably not as much as her....LOL!
I had to gut her and float her in the creek to get her to the truck ( yep she is EMPTY in that picture!), then flag a guy down to help me load her. I have no clue what she weighed but it was the heaviest hog I've ever killed. LOOoooong backstraps!!!
That gun always was a great long range squirrel gun and I guess it just patterns really tight.
yes simple, cheap remington sluggers (a rifled slug) in a 2 3/4" chambered smoothbore. 20"bbl, 1100 light 20. open sight, millet orange ramp front, stock rear sight.

At ten feet it might as well have been a slug! Great story!
