17...27...It's still a LOT of birds at one time. Anybody know anyplace up around Panama City to pick up bulk lime at a decent price? I don't wanna haul it all the way up there from Orlando, but at the same time, I don't wanna buy 30 of those 40# bags at Lowes either. Same for fertilizer. I'm gonna need like 2500# of lime and 600-800# of 10-10-10. I'm gonna try to plant some corn this year to offset my feeder prices, so I'll have to get several soil samples to get the nutrients just right. Not the whole plot, but about 6-8 rows about 100 yards long along the edge of the food plot and clear cut. As for the spring summer plot, I'm thinking soybeans and peas. I think with the right amount of Milorganite applied after planting, the critters should leave it alone until it gets big enough to sustain browsing.

We got lucky with the lime....after throwing it by hand the first year, which damn near killed us...lots of lime and it doesnt handle very easy....we found out our local feed store has a lime truck and he sprays it on like a slurry, cheaper than buying by the bag, and not a lick of work. He makes it look like it snowed. you might check around and see if any of the feed and seed places does this around you....so long as they can drive back into where your plots are...

This was from when I hunted up by panama City in Bear Island. This was Record Rack spring mix, with extra Iron Clay peas mixed in
