I would probably switch to hog dogs (if legal) and also run my rehabilitated "coyote" dogs :innocent :toast
There's always a bad apple in the bunch that will cast his dogs on posted land, but there is a lot of people living on lands that use to be wide open. I ran in Sandhill hc 3 years ago and that place is riddled with private property that is posted. It's getting tougher,I guess thats why we slowed down on the deer running. Even where I hunt now we're surrounded by still hunt clubs and every time you get under a buck that's where they head.Spent a lot of days trying to catch dogs out of them. Were losing land every day hopefully my kids will have a chance to let their kids experience it some day.
I was in Sandhill two years ago and there's alot of private land in some areas, more than the dog clubs around 98 where I hunt now. I hunted with some friends around Steinhatchee and there's much less around there. We all ran shock collar broke dogs, so we could call them off a deer if we had to. We jumped and killed alot of bucks but I just didn't have time to hunt two dog clubs.
