Yes go through therapy..too dang much gets costly with gas but I need it if I want to have as much use as I need for my arms and legs.My spinal cord was being pinched off for almost 2 years and I my muscle tissue atrophied and it caused some permanent nerve damage also. Some of the damage they said can heal and repair but it takes about 3 years to do so.

Anyways because of that crap that is why I am trying to find someone that has used a tension release before,so I can bow hunt again. .I also would like to see one in action to understand it better.

Personally, I love the tension releases. Here's why....

Normal people... NORMAL PEOPLE... all shift a little due to anticipation of the release. You KNOW when you are going to pull the trigger on your caliper release so you KNOW when it will go off and you expect it every time. With the tension release it's a surprise every time. You hold your sights longer and harder because you just don't know when it will go off. Same as sqeezing a trigger on a gun. Even though you are expecting the gun to fire, it is still a surprise when it does. Even with wrist sling caliper releases trigger style, you are STILL supposed to pretend that you are squeezing a ball with your shoulder blades as you fire. You aren't suppose to pull the trigger with just your finger. The motion of your arms sqeezing together from the rear is supposed to pull the trigger for you in one fluid motion. People get bad habits quickly with trigger releases simply because of laziness. You'll see younger (newer) bow advocates miss LOW all the time because of this. They'll blame their sites needing adjustments, but it comes down to their motions. The tension release FORCES you to have proper motion.

For the argument of target shooting versus hunting situations. In My Opinion, the two aren't any different at all. Your shot confidence should be the same no matter what you are doing. Imagine this.... 37 yards. Buck strolls in. Only open gap you have for a clean shot is about a 6 inch hole 1 inch above the double lung/heart. Beyond that 6 inch gap in the trees is limbs and brush. How often have you practiced this shot? If you are like most people not very often. How confident are you when it comes down to shooting or not? You've been missing your shots low lately and don't know why.

The only down side to a tension release (which can be said about any hand held release) is dropping it when you are 25 feet in the air. I carry two releases just in case.

The way it works is simple. Just as the name implies it works off of tension. My bow is set at 68 lbs with a 29 " draw. My tension release isn't adjustable to a certain weight, it fires when it gets ready to. You pretend you are sqeezing a softball with your shoulder blades. The pressure from the draw string NOT moving and my shoulder blades moving cause the pressure to build up on the release. It fires when it wants to. Without the proper motion, it doesn't fire.

I promise you sir, once you get used to how it operates, you'll never switch back to a trigger release. Your groupings will be tighter and you will be a lot more accurate. You'd be amazed at how many people have developed lazy, bad habits because of pulling a trigger. That causes you to pull the arrow. It may only be an inch that you've pulled it... but that inch makes a heck of a difference when you kick off a limb from trying to shoot through a 6 inch hole in the trees.

I will add on though,

That if you only shoot it once, you probably won't like it. It takes getting used to. I've seen some guys at bow shops struggle just to get it to fire. Just like with anything it takes getting used to.
