I just set up and sited in a Horton Summit for my brother with a 3dot scope and that thing is dead on 20,30, and 40yds right out of the box no brainer except for the shot placement on live animals. He just put in for Xbow hadicapped permit for WMA's and got his back (good till 2015) as he can't shoot a compound even at 35lbs after two back operations plus he has felony convictions (young and dumb) so can't carry a gun so this lets him hunt again. He used the xbow during gun season but only saw does (9within 10yds) seated on the ground.

I wont use a crossbow even though it will be legal until I can no longer effectively shoot a vertical bow. I dont begrudge anybody for using one and I am in favor of anything that will get more people involved in hunting. Its a personal preference for me. I am 100 percent addicted to bowhunting,all of it the set up of stands the tuning the off season practice and everything else that goes into bow hunting. There is just something about having that animal inside 30 yards and pulling it all off that is cool. The only issue I see with crossbows is you are going to have some guys pick one up and go hunting without knowing anything about the weapon. Crossbows still have a few tuning issues and still need to be practiced with to ensure an ethical kill.
I will be all over the Xbow, gets my season started during archery before the bow hunters put every thing nocturnal and kill the best animals.
After bow season if anyone wants to sell their Xbow I am in the market.
