That's what I was thinking. The swamps I hunt down here don't allow for very many 100 yard shots.
xactly, also I think a scoped gun looks better without the iron hardware and I can't stand seeing iron sights when looking thru a scope. I'm a fan of low power variables also: 1x4 on rifled shotgun, 1.5 x 5 on carbine rifle, 2 x 7 on mzl and 3.5 x 10 on 24" 25-06.l
Batemaster, how do you like that Redfield? I have heard great things about them. I almost bought a new Revolution 2x7x33 for my 6.8 AR but came across a Mark AR Leupold 1.5x4x20 slightly used for the same price. I have yet to come across a long shot myself, the next deer I see at 100 yds will be the 1st I have ever seen @ 100yds.
It's awesome. The quality is there, seeing how Redfield is owned by Leupold now. I haven't had a chance to really test it out in low light yet though. I'm sure it'll perform fine.
Cool setup. I removed both the back and front iron sights on my Omega.
