I now have my first ML it's a CVA 50cal.. I have read that you all say find a the powder and round that works for you. I have been to cabela's to look at what they have to offer and have found out that I have no idea where I should start to find what works best for me. So if you all could start me looking in the right direction.

I would definately start with 100 grains of 777 or pyrodex pellets and either the powerbelts or one of the saboted bullets that are out there I shoot the T/C sabots I forget what there called they sell them at wal mart they are 250 gr and have the black sabot with the yellow tip. But I would buy a few different types and try them in your gun to see what works best. Does your gun use 209 primers or # 11 caps ? If it uses the # 11 caps you may want to use loose powder I had a M/L that wouldn't light off the pellets with the #11 cap.

It has an adapter that lets you use either. I would reccomend using the primers.....You should be able to use either pellets or loose smokeless powder, but the pellets are quicker to load. Just be careful going over 100 grains of powder because at times it can cause the sabot to tumble during flight (depending on which sabot you use).

I like the idea of pellets better than lose powder. So that is vary cool. With all the different sabot's out there is there any that are must stay away from?

Get the 250 grain T/C Shockwave's super glide. They are easy to load and that is what I use, with 2 pellets of 777. They are basically a Hornady bullet
